Exclusive Freebie: Five Responsive HTML Email Templates for Noupe Readers (plus PSD)

Today we are back with another amazing freebie for all our lovely readers! We teamed up with one of the industry's most well-known PSD to HTML conversion companies, PSD2HTML.com, to give away a pack of responsive HTML email templates. The original PSD template was created by our second amazing partner in this giveaway, BestPSDFreebies.com. The PSD is available from here, too. So you can get your hands on building your own template if you feel so. We thought this was a great opportunity to share the experience we had with the P2H guys, what working with them is like and what challenges you might encounter while creating your responsive newsletters. Not the least part is that anyone who leaves a comment below gets a chance to win free newsletter template coding services from PSD2HTML worth $150!

The People Behind the Templates

If you are into web design, then you will most surely have heard of the PSD2HTML team. They have been helping thousands of agencies and freelancers to convert their artwork into actual working code. PSD2HTML offers a wide range of services, including but not limited to HTML5/CSS3 markup, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento implementation, mobile web development and email template coding.

The same should be true for BestPSDFreebies, a site where designers can find some of the finest PSD resources available on the net. Michael Reimer, the creative head behind BestPSDFreebies.com created a template exclusively for Noupe readers.

Noupe's Challenge

I received that email template named "Fresco", created by Michael Reimer's BestPSDFreebies.com as a PSD. That's what it looks like: original_fresco_email_template I was thinking of giving the PSD away for free, but then found it would be a much greater value, if we didn't just give you the PSD as a potentially responsive email template, but actually have functional HTML created, too. That's why I contacted the PSD2HTML guys and asked them if they would like to contribute the HTML part for our readers. The task was clear, but not really simple – make a real responsive HTML template from the original PSD.

According to CampaignMonitor's research, email reading has shifted towards mobile devices, so it's best to make sure that your emails look good on mobile. The real challenge is that responsive email design requires a different way of approaching email content. The PSD2HTML team had to get really creative with HTML for the Fresco template, since it has a complex header with an image, transparent overlay and buttons. Lots of email clients, such as  iOS Gmail, Android Gmail and Android Mail 4.4, don’t support JS media queries. Most of email templates are created using old-school table-based layout coding. The Result

Within two business days I received the final files. PSD2HTML extended on the original Fresco and delivered four more variants. See the pictures and judge for yourself. Which one you choose depends on who you send emails to.

As you can see, PSD2HTML team did a fantastic job! Definitely keep them in mind if you need to code an email template. You can freely download and use the templates from BestPSDFreebies and PSD2HTML for private and commercial purposes alike. You are not allowed to redistribute the templates as is or suggest you created them, although you can of course build client work upon it. Simply don't provide any downloads on third party websites. Instead refer to these download links:

  1. These are great designs. Responsive seems to be the only way to go lately with designing and becoming mobile friendly is a need. Nice work with these templates.
